Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

Template notice: This Terms of Service template is a starting point for lawyer review before public launch. Replace placeholder language with your final reviewed text. Local consumer-protection law (Bahrain, UAE, Saudi) may require specific clauses or limit certain disclaimers.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legal agreement between WiseHop("WiseHop", "we", "us") and you ("User", "you") for use of the WiseHop mobile apps, website at https://wisehop.app, and related services (together, the "Service").

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current.
  • One account per person. Account sharing is not permitted.
  • Drivers must additionally meet our verification requirements (ID, licence, insurance, vehicle).

3. The Service

WiseHop is a technology platform that connects independent third-party drivers with users seeking rides or delivery services. WiseHop does not employ drivers and does not own vehicles. WiseHop is not a transportation carrier.

4. Bookings, bids, and payments

4.1 Bid-based pricing

Passengers post a request; drivers send bids. By accepting a bid, you agree to the price stated in that bid. WiseHop does not set fares; drivers set their own bids.

4.2 Wallet

You must maintain sufficient funds in your in-app wallet to confirm a booking. Wallet top-ups are processed by third-party payment providers (card, PayPal, cryptocurrency).

4.3 Escrow

On confirmation, the fare is held in escrow until the ride completes. On completion, the platform releases the driver's share to their wallet and retains a service fee.

4.4 Cancellation

Cancellation fees may apply depending on timing and who cancels. See our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

5. User conduct

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service for unlawful purposes or to violate any local, national, or international law.
  • Threaten, harass, defraud, or harm any other user.
  • Damage any vehicle or property of a driver.
  • Bring weapons, illegal substances, or dangerous goods into a vehicle.
  • Solicit drivers off-platform to avoid platform fees.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service.
  • Use automated systems to create accounts or place bookings.

6. Driver-specific terms

  • You confirm you hold a valid driving licence, insurance, and any required commercial permit in your jurisdiction.
  • You confirm your vehicle meets WiseHop's safety standards and is mechanically sound.
  • You agree to drive safely, professionally, and in compliance with all road laws.
  • You agree not to discriminate against passengers based on race, religion, gender, disability, or any protected characteristic.
  • You agree to provide accurate verification documents. Submitting false documents results in immediate termination.

7. Fees and taxes

WiseHop charges a platform fee on each completed booking. The fee schedule is published in-app and may change with notice. Drivers are independent contractors responsible for their own taxes.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is". WiseHop disclaims all warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law. WiseHop does not warrant the availability, accuracy, or reliability of the Service. WiseHop is not liable for the conduct of drivers or passengers.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WiseHop's aggregate liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the platform fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 100.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify WiseHop against any claim arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. WiseHop may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, fraud, or safety reasons. Outstanding balances must be settled.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Disputes are resolved in the courts of Manama. For users resident in other jurisdictions, mandatory consumer-protection laws apply.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
