How WiseHop works
A complete walk-through of the ride flow, payments, safety features, and what makes bid-based pricing different.
For passengers
- 1
Post your trip
Choose pickup + drop-off, pick a vehicle class (Economy through First Class for rides, SUV/Van/Minibus for cargo), add the date and time. Optional: passenger count, luggage, Meet & Greet for airport pickups.
- 2
Drivers bid for your booking
Verified drivers nearby see your request and send offers. Each card shows the driver's rating, total trips, vehicle photos, and price. Tap Best Offer to compare side-by-side. Reviews from previous passengers are inline — you'll see real feedback before you commit.
- 3
Confirm and pay
Tap Confirm & Pay. Your wallet covers the fare immediately and the driver is locked in. Funds are held in escrow until the ride completes — released only when you finish your trip.
- 4
Track, chat, or call in-app
The live ride screen shows the driver's real-time location, the route, and ETA. Built-in chat and voice calling keep your phone number private. Share the trip link with anyone and they can follow along — no app needed for them.
- 5
Rate your driver, optionally tip
When the ride completes you'll get the receipt by email (and as a PDF). Rate the driver, leave a comment, and add a tip if you'd like — the tip goes directly to the driver.
For drivers
- 1
Get verified
Upload your government ID, driving licence, vehicle registration, vehicle photos (front, back, sides, interior), and insurance. WiseHop reviews each document within 24 hours.
- 2
See live ride requests
When you turn the toggle to Accepting, you see ride requests that match your approved vehicle class and your service area. No surge maps, no quotas — just live demand.
- 3
Bid for the trips you want
Set your price for each request. WiseHop suggests a competitive range; you decide the bid. Win at higher prices when you can; win on volume when you'd rather.
- 4
Get paid immediately
When the passenger accepts and pays, the fare is held in escrow. When you complete the ride, the platform releases your share to your wallet — withdraw at any time to bank, PayPal, or cryptocurrency.
- 5
Grow your earnings with ratings
Higher ratings and more completed trips put you in front of passengers as the recommended driver. Top-rated drivers also drop into our lower commission tier.
Safety, by design
One-tap SOS
Live ride screen has a red SOS button. Tap, confirm, and WiseHop is notified within seconds with offer to call 999.
Trip-share link
Send a private link to family or friends. They see driver, vehicle, ETA — no phone numbers, no app required.
In-app voice + chat
All comms route through WiseHop. Numbers stay private. Chat persists post-trip for lost-item coordination.
Geofence enforcement
Drivers can only mark Arrived / Start / Complete when GPS shows them near the pickup or drop-off.
Verified drivers + vehicles
ID, licence, registration, insurance, vehicle photos. Background checks. Periodic re-verification.
Escrow payments
Fares are held until the trip completes. No driver gets paid for a ride that didn't happen — and you never lose money to a no-show.
FAQ
- What is bid-based pricing?
- Instead of an algorithm setting one fixed price, verified drivers within range submit offers for your trip. You see each driver, their rating, their vehicle, and their price — and you pick.
- How long does it take to get bids?
- Bids are live — they start arriving as soon as you post the request. Busy routes (airport runs, city-centre pickups) attract more offers than quieter ones.
- Do I have to accept a bid?
- Never. If none of the offers suit you, cancel the request — no charge if the booking is still in the bidding stage.
- What if I need a ride urgently?
- Set the pickup time to "Now". Drivers see the urgency and bids arrive faster. You can also set a price ceiling so only matching offers come in.
